Stage in The Square is a well-established open air stage in the heart of the town centre, offering a great range of entertainment over the weekend. Performance times will be published in the Official Wimborne Minster Folk Festival Programme.

Andrew Helson
Andrew Helson is an accomplished (multi-instrumental) folk musician, singer and ceilidh caller, in demand across the South West. He's the lead singer of the Andrew James Band, accordionist for Murphy's Lore Ceilidh Band and regularly calls for some of the UK's top ceilidh bands.

Carrie Martin
Carrie is an acoustic guitarist and singer/songwriter from East Yorkshire, mentored by instrumental guitarist Gordon Giltrap MBE. She has performed in Canada on tour and has represented Vintage Guitars three times at the NAMM show in California. Carrie also guests at various guitar shows around the UK to demo her use of open tunings.
May 2023 saw her take to the stage at The Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury, alongside Gordon Giltrap, Oliver Wakeman and the mighty Rick Wakeman. Rick called Carrie 'phenomenal’, and the following year she was invited by Rick to join him on stage for ‘Morning Has Broken’. www.carriemartin.co.uk/

Clementine Lovell Trio
Clementine has a magical voice that ‘resonates and shimmers’ (Americana UK), and has been compared to English greats the calibre of Sandy Denny and Maddy Prior. Her award winning debut album Westbound is ‘outstanding’ (Folk London Magazine), ‘spectacular’ (FATEA), ‘stunning’ (Bright Young Folk) and ‘innovative’ (Irish Music Magazine).

Dorset Mutineers
They've been described as 'Dorset's Favourite Buoy Band' and are renowned for their beautiful harmonised renditions of classic sea shanties and songs of the sea. They perform widely across Dorset at events and festivals. The six-member crew have recently recorded their first album which will be released in 2026.

From The Workshop
An Alternative Folk duo crafting raw, unconventional harmonies and driving acoustic rhythms that stir both heart and mind. Hailing from Beckenham and Bromley, Jonnie Temple and Helen Rosemary write deeply honest songs that reflect the shifting landscapes of their lives—tales of love, loss, hope, and quiet rebellion.
Armed with guitar, kick-drum and ukulele bass, their stripped-back setup delivers a surprising punch. They blend poetic lyricism with dynamic folk energy to create something unmistakably their own.

Gilkicker Weevils
The Gilkicker Weevils are a contemporary folk-roots band from Hampshire. Whether through big hooky choruses, heartfelt ballads or fast paced footstompers their feet remain firmly planted in the ancient folk tradition of storytelling, breathing new life into the forgotten tales of their home county. With a growing following on the South Coast's folk scene, their sound bridges tradition and modernity, combining musicianship, humour, and a strong sense of place.

Honey & the Bear
Honey & the Bear have been a tour de force on the UK Folk Festival circuit in recent years. The British folk and roots duo combine delicately interweaving vocal harmonies with emotive and evocative songwriting. The multi-instrumentalist, husband and wife team of songwriters Jon Hart (guitar, bass, bouzouki) and Lucy Hart (guitar, ukulele, bass, banjo, mandolin & percussion), are often joined on-stage by band guests Evan Carson (percussion), Toby Shaer (Fiddle/Flutes/Whistles) and Archie Churchill-Moss (diatonic button accordion).

Katie Grace Harris
A multi-tasking, foot tapping, piano, dulcimer and accordion playing singer and story-weaver. Inspired by real stories of social injustice and with a fast-growing reputation in the UK Folk world, her sound has been described as 'boot-thumping, heart filling contemporary British folk’.

Mostly Harmless Acoustic Band
A four piece acoustic harmony group made up of two couples; friends for over 30 years. After retiring from their jobs, and enjoying singing round the table at home for many years, they decided to unleash their enthusiasm on the public and have been playing gigs in Dorset and the surrounding counties since summer 2023. They cover Americana, Blues, Folk and Country.

Sian & Rob Colquhoun
​With a crowd-pleasing mix of Bluegrass energy and driving Old-Time rhythms, Sian & Rob deliver an authentic performance full of vitality. Toe-tapping originals and skilled interpretations of tunes and songs drawing on early bluegrass, old-time mountain music, country blues and their own Scots-Irish Roots. The Claras
Performing traditional songs, evocative originals, and the occasional left-field cover, Sussex-based folk duo The Claras (Clare McGlone and Claire Rakich) are rapidly making a name for themselves. With story-songs featuring ghosts, blackbirds, witches, crossroads and lost villages, their unique partnership combines ethereal harp, compelling harmonies and down-to-earth yarns. www.theclaras.com

Tristan Hutton
Tristan Hutton brings his unique contemporary country sound from the Dorset coastline. Blending traditional country storytelling with a captivating pop style, he draws on inspiration from family, friends, the coast and his relocation from the city to the countryside.
Tristan released his debut EP ‘Thirty Something Symphony’ in late 2024. His newly-found passion for country music is plain to see, and he has his sights set on his debut album in 2026. For now, he‘s just enjoying the ride…
