Travel & parking

Easy with a bit of planning!

Location

The Folk Festival bursts into life in the centre of Wimborne Minster, Dorset.

Travel

By road

Wimborne Minster is just off the A31. This beautiful area's very popular with holidaymakers and weekend and day visitors. Top tip: aim to get here early in the day to avoid the traffic.

Parking

There are car parks in town but unless you know your way around, these may not be the best options.

There will also be some road closures in the town centre, limiting access.

A great alternative is Meadows Campsite. Just £5 to park all day - good value - with free shuttle bus or a short walk into the town. The campsite's just off the A31, very easy to reach.

By train

Nearest train station is Poole, with a good service on the Weymouth to London Waterloo line.

There’s a taxi rank directly outside; Wimborne is approximately 6.5 miles away. Alternatively, Poole Bus Station is a couple of minutes’ walk, with a regular service to/from Wimborne. See More Bus timetable.

Bournemouth station is on the same Weymouth to Waterloo line but further away from Wimborne.

By bus

A variety of local buses run to Wimborne - see More Bus timetable.

Let the bus take you as close as it's going to the town centre, then follow your ears, eyes, nose...

Printed and digital Official Festival programmes will be available - these include a map to music and dance locations, and much more.
