THE BOMO SWING (Sunday) 

 

An eight piece band renowned for its high energy and unique blend of Balkan, Reggae, Cumbia and dance. All powered by sizzling Latin drums, jazz influenced bass lines and topped off with spirited gypsy violin. You'll have a smile on your face while dancing your worries away!

THE CAPTAIN'S BEARD (Sunday) 

The Captain’s Beard are a pirate folk rock group from Brighton. Expect songs about beards and inappropriate mermaids. They also perform traditional sea shanties and Celtic music with tight harmony singing.

They play at least a hundred gigs every year and pour everything they have into every performance like a bunch of crazy whales. BEARD!

THE QUARTERJACKS (Sunday)

 

We are The Quarterjacks - Wimborne Minster's Town Band - and we regularly play at events all over the South including Kingsbridge in Devon, as well as a yearly trip to Saumur in France. We are open to all from the age of 8 upwards and we supply all equipment as well as tuition, so you don’t need to be able to play to join. We practice at the Allendale Community Centre every Wednesday from 7pm, so why not come and see us?

THE RAVEN KINGS (Sunday) 

The Raven Kings are a Folk, Country and Covers band from the heart of the Westcountry. Their debut album, 'Rise', released in August 2023, highlights the range of their repertoire. Expect lively tunes and sing-a-long classics!

THE TRANSITIONS (Friday)

 

Living proof that size does not matter, The Transitions are a 2 piece band with a sound that packs a punch. Performing a range of covers and originals!

Kevin THOMAS (Saturday)

 

Kevin Thomas is a versatile local singer and guitarist who performs an eclectic range of classic and obscure cover versions spanning the 1950s to the 1980s by artists as diverse as Buddy Holly, Glenn Campbell and the Stranglers.

His energetic, engaging performance style combined with his powerful vocals makes for a most memorable musical experience.

Paul Thomas

Paul THOMAS (Sunday)

A skilled guitar player with a versatile voice, Paul performs an eclectic mix of often sensitive and poignant songs. Also half of the duo Men In Black, and the brains behind “I Can't Believe It's Not a Folk Club” at the Oddfellows Arms, Wimborne.

THOMAS HEPPELL TRIO (Friday)

 

A young, emerging blues artist who has worked with stalwarts of the British Blues Panorama, Thomas Heppell is here with his dynamic 3 piece ensemble. Certainly one to highlight in your programme, this multi-award nominated Artist is a force to be reckoned with.

Carley VARLEY (Saturday)

 

Award-winning musician Carley Varley is an Indie Alternative Artist based in Winchester. An emotive song-writer and performer, Carley has risen from busking on the streets of her hometown, to performing at festivals and events across the south west of England.

Millie WATSON (Sunday) 

 

Millie Watson was raised travelling round the UK festival circuit. This is where her thirst for music developed, and she began to master her craft. Millie's music is embedded in folky roots. With her silky voice and husky tones, she plays a range of original melodies for the hopeless, and hopeful. In 2023 Millie won 'Best Newcomer' at the Dorset Music Awards. She went on to win Tolpuddle Festival Acoustic competition, and play several sets at Glastonbury Festival.

WIMBORNE GUITARS (Sunday)

 

A guitar playing group that meets at the Allendale Centre every week, comprising players from beginner to advanced standards. At the Festival they perform some of their songs with Mark, their teacher!

Richard WIRDNAM (Sunday) 

 

A master of the accordion, and a valued member of Murphy's Lore, Richard Wirdnam is also a pianist and singer and very well known in the Dorset Folk Scene. His songs and interesting stories will have you totally entertained.

Allan WINTER (Saturday)

Giving a taste of true traditional folk, with intricate guitar playing, Allan Winter has a large repertoire of well known, and rarer, songs from around the world. His album 'Waltz Into Winter', recorded at Hangover Hill Studios, comes highly recommended and echoes his varied and engaging performances, with equally engaging stories behind the songs.

Singing out for the underdog in glorious harmony, Winter Wilson perform original songs packed with punch and emotion that will get beneath your skin, all delivered with great humour.
